Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower is Japan’s 2nd tallest structure, standing at 333m tall. Construction began for the Tokyo tower over 60 years ago in 1957 (Completed in 1958). Today, the tower serves as a communications tower and an observation deck, providing stunning views both day and night of the Tokyo metropolitan skyline and the Tokyo Bay.

Without a doubt, you can see that the design was heavily inspired by the Eiffel Tower, Paris. However, the Tokyo Tower takes on a very different colour than the Eiffel Tower. This is because the Tokyo Tower is close to 2 large airports, and it had to be painted to comply with aviation regulations, giving Tokyo Tower it’s famous Orange and White exterior.

There are 2 observation decks, one at 150m (Main deck), and the other further up at 250m (Top Deck).

NOTICE: The main deck is currently undergoing renovations until around the middle of 2019. The renovations won’t affect you all that much, but there will be a section of the main deck which is blocked off, but you will still be able to view out the 3 other sides of the deck.
