Hidden within the lush mountains of Yakushima Island, Senpiro Falls (千尋の滝) is one of the island’s most breathtaking natural sights. Cascading roughly 60 meters down a vast granite cliff face, the Senpiro falls is among the most scenic waterfalls on the small island of Yakushima. 

The falls can be easily reached by car, with a dedicated viewing platform just a short walk from the parking area. From here, you’ll have a stunning panoramic view of the waterfall plunging into the valley below, framed by thick forests and rugged mountains.

For those lucky enough, Japanese Macaque monkeys can sometimes be spotted from the Senpiro Waterfalls viewing platform. If you do come across the monkey’s, considering keeping your distance around them, and avoid eating, or feeding the monkey’s – they are wild animals and cen be unpredictable.
