Mihama American Village is a large open-air shopping and entertainment complex located in Chatan Town, on Okinawa’s west coast. Developed on former U.S. military land, the area is designed to resemble an American seaside town, with colourful buildings, wide promenades, and a relaxed, resort-like atmosphere. The shopping complex even features a small ferris wheel ride. The village contains a mix of fashion stores, souvenir shops, cafés, and restaurants serving American, international, and Okinawan cuisine, as well as a cinema and small entertainment venues.
Adjacent to the complex is Sunset Beach, a popular spot for swimming and evening strolls, particularly around sunset when the western sky lights up over the East China Sea. After dark, the area becomes livelier with illuminated storefronts and a casual nightlife scene. Easily accessible from Naha by car or bus, Mihama American Village is a popular stop for visitors seeking shopping, dining, and coastal views in a distinctly non-traditional Okinawan setting.
