Momijidani Park

As you wander through Momijidani Park, you may encounter deer leisurely roaming, similiar to their counterparts near the Miyajima Ferry terminal. However these deer are somewhat less domesticated, prompting a gentle reminder to maintain a safe distance due to their occasional unpredictability. Notably, Momijidani Park serves as the gateway to the Misen Ropeway, with its bottom station located within the park grounds. This ropeway ascends Mt. Misen, treating adventurers to panoramic views from the summit. Additionally, the park serves as the starting and ending point for the Misen hiking trail, inviting enthusiasts to embark on an invigorating journey through the scenic landscapes. Accessing Momijidani Park

Momijidani Park can be found a few short minutes from the famous Itsukushima Shrine. The walk will take you approximately 5 minutes from the shrine. Alternatively, from the Miyajima Ferry Terminal, the walk should take between 10-15 minutes depending on the pace.

The park also leads you through the forest to the bottom station of the Misen Ropeway, leading up Mt. Misen.
