Matsumoto Castle, Nagano Prefecture

Nagano Prefecture is one of the largest prefectures in Japan, and is located in the center of the island of Honshu. Nagano is an outdoor adventurers paradise, with countless things to see and do, hundreds of mountains and thousands of hiking trails. Just over 20% of the total area of Nagano Prefecture is dedicated as a national park.

Nagano prefecutre was also the host of the 1998 Winter Olympic games, as snow and ski trails are abundant. 

One of the most famous tourist attractions of the prefecture is the Jigokudani Monkey park, famous for the pictures of monkeys relaxing in a natural hot springs.
