The ‘Heart Rock’ (ハートロック) in Okinawa prefecture is a popular scenic spot on the Kouri Island. The naturally occurring rock formation sits just offshore and is a popular photography spot for domestic and international tourists, given its heart-shaped resemblance, particularily popular among couples taking cute photos.The rock grew in popularity following the release of a Japan Airlines advertisement, which featured the Heart rock, nearly instantly making this a ‘must-visit’ destination for couples visiting Okinawa.

Accessing the Heart Rock
The Heart Rock is found on Kouri Island, and can be easily accessed by Car. The rock formation is only a few short minutes walk from several paid parking areas.
Kouri Island is about an hour and a half drive from Naha city. Due to the isolated nature of Okinawa, renting a car is highly recommended.
