Tsuru no mai bridge, otherwise known as Tsuru no maihashi, is a popular scenic bridge on Lake Tsugaru Fujimi, in northern Aomori prefecture. Built in the early 1990’s, the Tsuru no Mai Bridge currently holds the record for Japan’s longest three-arched bridge. The bridge is known as “Nagaiki-no-Hashi” (bridge of long life) and is popular for its longevity blessing.
The bridge is perhaps best known for its stunning views of Mt. Iwaki, which can be seen looming behind the bridge on clear days. Nearby, you can find Fujimiko Park – a small walking area perfect for a pleasant walk. Additionally, just a short walk from the Tsuru no Mai bridge, you can find the Tanchō-zuru crane shizen kōen nature park, a small free enclosure housing multiple red-crowned cranes as part of on-going conservation efforts.
