The Ishigaki Stalactite Cave is a small limestone cave system located just on the outskirts of Ishigaki city on Ishigaki Island. Believed to have been formed over 200,00 years ago, today the Ishigaki Stalactite cave showcases countless stalactites in a cool, expansive cave system. The cave system stretches 3.3km, with 660 meters of which being accessible to the public with the walking path.
One of the highlights of the cave is the Totoro Stalactite, said to resemble the popular character from the movie, My Neighbour Totoro. The cave also has an illumination section, with fairy lights illuminating the stalactites in a fun and creative way. It is suggested that the walking course in the cave should take around 30 minutes to complete, making for a quick and easy stop in. Tickets can be purchased online for a slight discount.
On-site, there is also a small souvenir shop and a restaurant.
