The Tokyo Skytree has two observation decks, the first observation area stands at 350m tall. This deck is known as the Tembo Deck, and it serves as the main landing area for people visiting the skytree. There are four floors to this section, which vary from shops, to observation area. On the fourth bottom floor, there are glass floors which look down upon the city, and those who dare to walk across will surely feel a bit of an adrenaline rush.

The top observation platform, known as the Tembo Gallery, can be accessed by purchasing an additional ticket from the Tembo Deck and stands at 450m high, providing the most advantageous view of the greater Tokyo region. Locals and tourists flock to this amazing location on a clear day, as the view is one of a kind, with Mount Fuji occasionally peeking over the skyline. It is highly recommended that you visit on a clear day as on a cloudy / rainy day you might not be able to see anything as all from any of the observation areas.

Accessing the Tokyo Skytree

Getting to the Tokyo Skytree is incredibly easy, just hop on the train and get off at Tokyo Skytree station and you’re right at Solamachi shopping center. To access the Tokyo Skytree, you will find the entrance on the 4th floor of Solamachi – a shopping center complete with shops, an aquarium, restaurants and a planetarium.

Tickets can be purchased on the 4th floor, from there, you will take a short 50 second elevator ride up to the first observation deck.
