Enoshima Aquarium

Enoshima Aquarium is a fun, family friendly activity in the Enoshima, Kanagawa Prefecture area.

The Enoshima Aquarium is a popular aquarium located in, Kanagawa Prefectural Shonan Coast Park, near the scenic island of Enoshima. The Enoshima aquarium is a perfect family friendly stopover when visiting the scenic Enoshima, and the Enoshima Sea Candle, both located only a short walk away from the Aquarium. 

The Aquarium has several themed exhibits, such as the Jellyfish fantsay hall, Deep sea, dolphin shows, and also showcases the diverse range of life found in the Sagami Bay, directly outside of the aquarium walls. 

Visitors have the opportunity to participate in interactive experiences, such as feeding sessions and touch pools. These hands-on activities allow guests to get up close and personal with various marine animals, including stingrays, sea turtles, and jellyfish, under the supervision of knowledgeable staff.

Enoshima Aquarium is committed to marine conservation and environmental education. Through exhibits, presentations, and outreach programs, the aquarium raises awareness about the importance of protecting marine ecosystems and promoting sustainable practices. In terms of aquariums in Japan, the Enoshima Aquarium generally does a great job when it comes to animal welfare. 

The facility also includes a souvenir shop where visitors can purchase marine-themed merchandise, gifts, and educational materials. Additionally, there are cafes and snack bars where guests can relax and enjoy refreshments while taking in panoramic views of the surrounding scenery. 

Just outside of the aquarium, you can find the island of Enoshima. From Enoshima, you can see some truly amazing scenery – especially on a clear day. When looking towards the mainland from Enoshima, you can be treated to a view of the iconic Mt.Fuji, which typically looms behind the town of Enoshima.

Accessing the Enoshima Aquarium

The Enoshima Aquarium can be found only a short walk away from Katase-Enoshima Station, in the  Kanagawa Prefectural Shonan Coast Park. You can get to Katase-Enoshima Station from JR Fujisawa Station by taking the Local Katase-Enoshima line, operated by the Odakyu Electric Railroad. The train trip takes only 15 minutes, and will cost 170JPY one way. 

Futhermore, the Enoshima Aquarium is only about 15 minutes walk from Enoshima Station, and Shonan-Enoshima Station – both other lines which provide alternative options for getting to Enoshima.
