The Otaru Tenguyama Ropeway is a scenic cable car that takes visitors up Mount Tenguyama, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Otaru and Ishikari Bay. Located just a short distance from Otaru’s city center, the ropeway provides a convenient way to reach the mountain’s summit, which stands at 532 meters above sea level.

The ropeway ride takes about 4 minutes and operates year-round. At the mountaintop observation deck, visitors can enjoy one of Hokkaido’s “Top 3 Night Views,” with the city lights reflecting off the bay below. On clear days, you can see as far as the Shakotan Peninsula.
