Abeno Harukas 300 is a skyscraper located in the Abeno district of Osaka. It is part of the larger Abeno Harukas complex, which includes a shopping mall, offices, a hotel, and an art museum. Completed in 2014, the structure’s name “300” refers to its height in meters: 300 meters. At the time of completion, it was the tallest building in Japan, but lost the title in 2023 to Azabudai Hills Mori JP Tower in Tokyo.
Floors 58-60 of the tower are the famous observation deck called “Harukas 300.” Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Osaka and its surrounding areas from this vantage point. The observation deck offers both indoor and outdoor viewing areas. The Harukas 300 provides a view unmatched by anything in Osaka, as the observation tower overlooks all other buildings in Osaka, 60 floors into the sky.
On a clear day, visitors can expect unmatched views of the city, providing a stunning panoramic view of many of Osaka’s famous attractions, including Osaka Castle, Osaka Aquarium, USJ and further out towards the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge – Japan’s longest suspension bridge. The Abeno Harukas tower can even be visible from parks of Kyoto City, some 45 km (approx 28 mi.) away.
Best time to visit
Our favourite time to visit the Abeno Harukas is on a clear day, and about 30-45 minutes prior to sunset. Doing so, allows you to watch as the city lights up as the sun sets. To pass the time, grab a coffee or something to eat from the restaurant and watch as the city transforms before your eyes. It is is a popular date spot for locals, thanks to the stunning night views.
Ticket Information
Tickets can be purchased online in advance to skip the queues, or from the 16th floor of the Abeno Harukas tower. Adult (ages 15+) start from 2200 yen. For an additional fee, you can go out onto the tower’s helipad for an open-air view of the city. On the 16th floor, there is also a small free observation deck; however, for the best views, we highly recommend going up to the top.
Other things to do at Abenoa Harukas
Within the Abeno Harukas complex, there is an art museum located on the 16th floor. It showcases various exhibitions featuring contemporary and traditional Japanese art. The lower floors of the complex are occupied by the Abeno Harukas shopping mall, which offers a wide range of retail stores, restaurants, and entertainment options.
Abeno Harukas also houses office spaces and the Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel, which occupies floors 38 to 55 of the building.
