Tempozan Ferris Wheel – Osaka | Travel Information

Just outside the Osaka Aquarium, stands the enormous Tempozan Ferris Wheel (also called Osaka Ferris Wheel). It gets its name from where it’s situated – the Tempozan Harbor Village, home to the world famous, Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan. It has a total diameter of 100 meters, a circumference of over 300 meters, and lastly a total height of 112 meters. Upon opening in 1997, it held the world record for largest Ferris Wheel for 2 years, until it was later passed by another Ferris wheel in Tokyo. 

The Ride on the Tempozan Ferris wheel is approximately 17 minutes long, which provides a calming, and beautiful view of the Osaka bay area. The Tempozan Ferris Wheel is a great place for Night photography and sightseeing, as you do get one of the best nighttime views of Osaka. At night, the Tempozan Ferris wheel lights up with stunning colours, and it can even display the forecast for coming days.
