Chugoku (中国地方) is the westernmost region on Japan’s main island, Honshu. Chugoku consists of five prefectures, and is some to some of Japan’s most sacred sites, including Miyajima and Izumo Taisha. Hiroshima Prefecture is the most popular destination in the region, with many cultural and historic sites. Hiroshima is also home to Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki, a popular food enjoyed around the city.
